The Long Line of Consumerism Waiting for the New I Phone

We had a saying when I was in the NAVY, “hurry up and wait” We didn’t have much of a choice then because the government owned our asses.

I just read a news article about people waiting in line for the new i-phone that has no release date, so what are they waiting for?  There’s a rumor that the new phone will arrive somewhere around the 19th of September but there is still no official word yet.

I have an  i-phone, I have had it for over 2 years, why would anyone wait in line for days just to be the first or fifth person to have one.

What do these people do for a living? How can you sit in line for weeks and still have a job?

In all my years as a radio personality  I have had privileges, when it comes to events, many times I can get in ahead of the crowd at certain events, my wife always says that I’m entitled because I don’t like crowds. I actually love to be at crowded events, I just don’t like waiting in line,

I would like to think most people feel that way, so being in a line for several days, possibly weeks makes no sense to me, they're not giving anything away, it’s an i-phone.
