The NBA draft is over, the teams have selection the players, and Knicks fans are questioning their first round pick, Latvia power forward 7'1", Kristaps Porzingis.

His name is almost impossible to pronounce and most of us have never heard of him or seen him play in a game, but Phil Jackson and his staff are rebuilding this team from the bottom up, and they see something special in this man.

The Knicks other big pick was Notre Dame stand out guard, Jerian Grant. Last year he averaged 16.5 points, 6.6 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.7 steals, leading the ACC in assists per game and assist percentage, as well as free throws made and attempted.

Carmello Anthony is not happy with the picks and probably feels like he's been duped. However, keep in mind, any new player they picked would need to go through a few years of development.

Melo wants to win now. He's 31 and is coming off major knee surgery. He's definitely coming to the end of his career.

I think Phil Jackson has dealt with this type of frustration before, and he is smart enough and disciplined enough to not allow himself to make bad decisions.

The next step for this off season is free agency. The Knicks have cap money to get one or two really good players.

I believe in what Phil Jackson is doing. He's a proven winner and I don't think he wants to go out on the losing end. We may not have won a championship this year, but look for better things in the upcoming season.

Go Knicks!
