The Human Art of Lying: History’s Biggest Fibs

I came across an article on the most common lies that we tell, they range from your age and height to the excuses we make up to get out of things.

Even the most trusted figures in our country have dished up some whoppers from George Washington’s fabricated admission to chopping down the cherry tree to Nixon’s I’m not a crook to Bill Clintons I did not have sexual relations with that woman Miss Lewinsky. Powerful figures in our country’s history have lied right in our faces.

OJ Simpson and Robert Blake have gotten away with murder and the not so famous like Jodi Arias who was convicted and could be executed, stand by their innocence, do they bring just a tinge of doubt to your mind?

Scammers like Bernie Madoff whose lies bilked many people of their life savings and ruined their lives.

Other world leaders like Hitler and one of our biggest nightmares “the Cuban Missile Crises” in which soviet leader Krushchev lied about planting missiles in Cuba and the exact opposite from our own leader George W claiming that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction.

Lies, where would we be without them?
