‘The Expendables 3′ Is A Go!

Lionsgate

The Expendables 3‘ has been assumed to be in the works for some time — seriously, how it could it not? — but now the news is official… Well, semi-official. But there are still a ton of questions on our minds, like which of the cast members of ‘The Expendables 2′ will be returning?

The American Film Market, which showcases the first images and plot details for some upcoming films, released a pamphlet to its attendees from Nu Media and Millenium Films (via Collider). On it was the title ‘The Expendables 3,’ along with the confirmation that the international distribution rights are being sold. Also getting made is a sequel to the Jason Statham actioner ‘The Mechanic.’

All other details are unknown at this point, although it’s safe to assume that some stars will not be making a return trip to ‘The Expendables’ world. Chuck Norris has already expressed his disinterest in coming back for a third film in the movie series, while Hulk Hogan wants in. Plus, remember those rumors about Nicolas Cage? Producer Avi Lerner claimed the actor was already nabbed for ‘The Expendables 3,’ while Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood and Wesley Snipes were also reportedly being eyes for roles.

There’s also the female version of ‘The Expendables’ (dubbed ‘The ExpendaBelles‘) to look forward to. But while we’re waiting for more progress on that front, what do you make of this news? Who do you want to return for ‘The Expendables 3′? Do you have your heart set on any newcomers? Let us know in the comments!
