When upstate New Yorkers think of going to the beach, many envision New Jersey, or Maine, or maybe even taking a trip to FLA.

The truth is you don’t even have to go that far to enjoy the water and the aesthetics of sand, blue skies, beautiful sunset and a romantic walk on the beach.

One of the many areas in New York that you can travel to is Oneida Lake, located northeast of Syracuse and just a little over an hours drive from the Binghamton area.

The shores have parks and beaches around the roughly 80 square miles of the lake and if you’re looking for a nice respite that’s very reasonably priced you can’t beat it.

My wife and I grabbed a room for the night this past weekend and had a really nice time relaxing on the beach.

Oneida Lake, one of the reasons I Love New York.
