Christmas is a week away and if you're like me, I'm sure many of your gifts are waiting to be wrapped.

The concept of wrapping a gift is an odd one considering we spend so much time cutting, taping, attaching ribbons and bows on them just to have them ripped off in about 10 seconds or less.

Some people take great pride in the visual presentation of a wrapped gift and I think we have all enjoyed looking at an assorted array of neatly wrapped gifts lying under the tree for several days. The anticipation that hooks you on the nomenclature of the gift wrap is one of the best parts of Christmas morning.

I remember years ago my significant other and I decided to cut costs and buy our wrapping paper at a dollar store. Now this was the early days of dollar stores, so the assortment was not what it is today. We encountered the most hideous looking patterns you could ever imagine and even though I’m a guy, I could not bring myself to buy that awful stuff.

That year on Christmas day, we went to a family member’s house to exchange gifts, and when they brought our presents out from under the tree, you better believe they were all wrapped in that same cheap paper.

A few days ago Leeann Taylor, Don Morgan and myself, challenged some of our sister stations in a wrapping paper race to see which team could wrap three items the fastest.

Check out the results below, and happy wrapping everyone!
