A Binghamton teen accused of shooting a woman in the chest on Willow Street in Johnson City September 16 is rejecting an offer to plead guilty to attempted murder in exchange for 10 years in jail.

Authorities say 16-year-old Dyjuan Gadson was believed to have intended to kill Xaqvier Melendez, but shot the woman instead.

Police have been looking into whether the Johnson City shooting is connected with the murder the same day of 27-year-old Daequan Dickerson on Main Street in Binghamton.  21-year-old Keyama St. Joy has just been charged with murder in that fatal drive-by shooting.

Gadson is charged with felony attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and assault.
