Fracking (technical term, hydraulic fracturing) is the hottest topic in the Southern Tier.

The method of extracting natural gas and oil from the most rich deposit in the country is being done in Pennsylvania and several other states. In my opinion, Pennsylvania jumped in with both feet and didn't do its due diligence. The condition of the roads that water trucks travel on is partial proof.

There is big money to be had by states, residents, and companies in fracking. There is also the worry of environmental impact. This very complex issue is still up for debate in New York as the impact studies are not complete and, I am guessing, the Governor doesn't want to decide on this volatile issue.

We've put together a survey about fracking to see what your thoughts are. We will share the results soon.
