More information is coming out about the fatal shooting of a 22 year old Susquehanna Pennsylvania woman at her home early October 17.

Investigators say the woman’s former boyfriend, 34 year old Jonathan Kopacz of Thompson had been planning on killing Kelly Conklin for months after the couple’s relationship ended badly in May.

Pennsylvania State Police took Kopacz into custody at his home following a brief stand-off during which he threatened to kill himself.

Kopacz is charged with criminal homicide, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

He’s accused of shooting Conklin with two handguns several times in her car after she returned to her home on Washington Street in Susquehanna Borough shortly after 1 a.m.

Neighbors reported hearing up to ten shots.

Authorities say as Kopacz was taken into custody, he handed them a two-page letter for Conklin’s mother allegedly explaining why he killed his former girlfriend.

Kopacz has confessed to the killing.
