For the second time in less than three days, Binghamton police are investigating a stabbing incident in the city's First Ward.

The latest attack happened early Friday morning. Police were called to an apartment house at 17 Holland Street around 3:30 a.m.

A woman reportedly was stabbed during a dispute at the residence one block north of Clinton Street. The Binghamton Fire Department ambulance transported her to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment.

Police were looking for a man who was believed to have used a knife to injure the woman.

The Holland Street incident was the second reported stabbing in the First Ward in a period of about 30 hours.

Detectives were continuing to investigate an attack that happened Wednesday evening in the area of Oak and Elm streets. In that incident, a man reportedly was stabbed in the chest.

Police have not released the man's name or provided information about the extent of his injuries.
