Storms Roll Though The Binghamton Area

Talk about a wild and wooly start to summer! Yesterdays storms left our area a little trashed as they rolled through.

In some areas, we had golf ball size hail, there were trees or power lines down and damage to crops and property.  My friend Kathy’s plants got hammered by hail and my friend Dianne caught a great image of lightning striking her neighbor’s house.

This leads me to share that it’s Lightning Safety Awareness Week. Lightning is nothing to mess with, as it can kill instantly. There are some great tips online about keeping safe. Check here.

Remember, as you deal with storms, don’t get caught up in the beauty without realizing the danger and heed those warnings from forecasters. Happy summer!
