In tragic news from outside the world of classic rock, a fan has died following a stage dive at a weekend metalcore concert in New York City. No one caught Alberto Scott, 21, when he leaped during a performance by Miss May I at the Studio at Webster Hall, Billboard reports.

Police report that the young man didn't collapse until after he left the venue. Paramedics were apparently unable to revive Scott, who suffered a serious head injury. Miss May I acknowledged the incident in a Facebook post, which quickly turned into a series of testimonials from Scott's friends -- and a repository for sad stories about what happened on Saturday night.

Brooklyn Vegan and Sinestra Studios are reposting remembrances, as well. A site has also been launched to assist with Scott's funeral expenses.

Miss May I, touring in support of the just-released 'Rise of the Lion,' is set to appear at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival later this summer. Their debut album 'Apologies Are for the Weak' went to No. 76 on the Billboard charts in 2006.
