USA Advances to Semi Finals – Doug’s Sports Rap

Team USA came to play yesterday with stifling defense and a great performance from Kevin Durant with 27 points as the United States routed Argentina 105-78 to advance to the semifinals against Spain on Friday.

The game did not start well for the Dream Team, they were down early by 10 points and looked stunned, when USA coach Mike Krzyzewski called a rare early time out and quickly changed the line up to included, Paul George, Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butlet and DeAndre Jordan.

I guess that is the beauty of having such a deep bench, because the United States never looked back after that line up change.

Team USA is on a roll and look confident and ready to win the gold, but they will have to face a Spain team that they defeated in 2008 and again in 2012.

Both of these teams are playing their best basketball, and Spain has never won a Gold medal in basketball, so this will be one hell of a game.

Spain has some NBA elite led by Pau Gasol, Nikola Mirotic, Ricky Rubio and Jose Calderon.

This is going to be a great game and if the Aussies beat Serbia on Friday the finals will be a hell of a match up too.

The United States will tip off against Spain Friday afternoon at 2:30pm EDT, the winner will face either Australia or Serbia for the Gold.
