An area school district that had been among several recently getting implied threats is again responding to an incident.

In a series of Tweets by Spencer VanEtten Superintendent, Joseph Morgan, there had been a message found on a high school classroom desk implying there would be a shooting at the school later this month.

In the last Tweet posted on the district website, Morgan said the police investigation is complete and a student is in custody.  Morgan Tweeted “At no time were any students or staff in danger.”

At the end of February, some conversations between SVE students concerning the school shooting in Florida between some escalated into a perception of a local threat which eventually was repeated on Instagram.  The New York State Police and Tioga County Sheriff’s Office became involved in that investigation and determined the threat was unfounded.
