The moment that Soundgarden fans have been waiting for is quickly approaching. The reunited rockers took the next step to releasing their first music since 1996 by announcing that their next album will be titled ‘King Animal.’

The disc is tentatively slated for a Nov. 13 release, and the group is doing their part to build up the anticipation by issuing a new song snippet to go along with the album title revelation. The primarily instrumental piece titled ‘Worse Dreams’ is a fierce rocker with guitars a blazing and drummer Matt Cameron bashing away on the drum kit before singer Chris Cornell comes in towards the end of the 30-second clip.

Guitarist Kim Thayil recently stated of the band’s upcoming effort, “It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.” There was some question about that earlier this year when the band issued ‘Live to Rise‘ as a single from the ‘Avengers Assemble’ soundtrack, but Cornell stated at the time that the track was penned specifically for the movie and a particular audience and was not indicative of the rest of their record.

In addition to ‘Worse Dreams,’ other tracks reportedly on the disc include ‘Blood on the Valley Floor’ and ‘A Thousand Days Before,’ with Thayil stating that the latter track has and Indian vibe to it.
