Something New Coming to Old Russell’s Steakhouse Site

There's new life at the West Endicott building that was home to the popular Russell's Steak and Seafood House restaurant.

A husband and wife who live in Johnson City are planning to open a new eatery at the site on West Main Street.

Iliya and Elena Honovich say the restaurant will be called Food Fusion Bar and Grill. They expect the place will be open by summer.

Iliya Honovich said interior renovation work is continuing and should be mostly completed in the next couple of weeks.

Elena Honovich said the new restaurant will be much like a steakhouse but the menu also will feature other types of food, including Italian and Middle Eastern dishes.

The restaurant will be located across from the En-Joie Golf Club, where the Dick's Sporting Goods Open is to be held in July.

Russell's closed more than six years ago. Before Russell's, the building was occupied for decades by the Red Lion restaurant.
