Last week we lost another actress from 1960's television. Judy Carne, who helped a weekly comedy show develop one of its biggest catch phrases, "Sock it to me."

When I ask younger people if they have ever heard of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, they almost always say no. The show ran for five seasons from 1968 to 1973, and helped several future stars and comedians launch their careers.

Each week, the show would feature guest stars acting in skits during the show. One of the bits was called, 'Sock It to Me Time', and featured Carne as the victim of everything from water, trapdoors, boards, and other objects knocking her around.

The catch phrase was so popular, that President Nixon appeared in a short cameo speaking the catch phrase! Watch the video below.

This week's Throwback Thursday memory is a tribute to that beloved 'Sock It to Me' girl, Judy Carne.
