Winter obviously isn't done with the Twin Tiers just yet with bursts of snow, strong winds and wind chills below zero for the final days of March.

Wind and some snow could cause for a commuting challenge in the morning March 28 for many parts of the Twin Tiers.

Cortland County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 11 a.m. March 28 for the potential for slippery conditions.

Broome County Emergency Services officials reported several vehicles crashed on Hooper Road and Taft Avenue in the Town of Union overnight March 27, with one of the incidents involving cars sliding into a previous accident scene.

Several vehicles were also reported off the road on Interstate 81 in the area of the rock cut between Castle Creek and Whitney Point.  Authorities some motorists had actually slid off the road but others just opted to pull off the interstate until visibility improved.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Chenango and Tioga County officials said they were aware of white out conditions at times but had no crashes to report.  Road crews in Chenango County were hitting the streets before 4 a.m. March 28 to counter possible slick spots.

Wind is also an issue for drivers.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton says steady winds over ten miles per hour and gusts as high as 29 miles per hour would keep wind chill values in the minus single digits for all of March 28 before dying down to 8 to 14 miles per hour on Tuesday, March 29.
