I mentioned Oneida Lake in a blog last month and the fact that you don’t have to travel a great distance to get to the water in New York

I would like to highlight another scenic sight with a great body of water, Skaneateles Lake, one of the Finger Lakes that run along central New York.

This past Sunday my wife and I got in the car and took a less than two hour drive to the village of Skaneateles. We traveled across route 20 west through the apple orchards and beautiful farm land to the roughly 13 ¼ square mile lake, who’s northern end touches a beautiful old town.

We walked through the park and out on the dock, browsed the antique shops, and enjoyed a beautiful day.

We plan on going back to take a dinner cruise next month.

Skaneateles Lake, another reason I love New York
