Should There Be Jokes About the Missing Malaysian Plane Or Not?

It has been 10 days since the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH-370. 239 people, crew and passengers, were on board and are missing. No one has any answers and the families are beyond upset.

With all of this known, I have seen jokes about the plane pop up on social media and apparently, some media personalities have joked about it. I have also seen statuses calling this behavior terrible. Is it appropriate to joke? Is humanity so callous at this point that the joke trumps the families feelings?
