When was the last time you visited your doctor for a general physical?  Many people avoid going to the doctor and others are more regimented about their health

I am writing this blog as a reminder that it is time for my yearly visit to the doctor for a routine checkup.

How often you visit your doctor depends on your age, medical history and general health.

Many young adults under the age of 40 will go years before they visit a doctor, and several medical organizations agree that the annual check up is unnecessary for most younger adults.

I admit that I did not visit my doctor each year when I was younger, but I am older now and even though I am in good health, I see my doctor every fall for a check up with standard blood work.

Primary prevention is key for older Americans, so I would think most of us in our 40's, 50's and beyond would want to know about any risks we may have that could lead to chronic disease.

The frequency of doctor visits are up to each individual , but I choose to see my doctor once a year.

The next time you go to the doctor be truthful with your answers, watch this video and see a few reasons why you should never lie to your doctor.
