We've been talking about Mountain Jam for a while now. And for good reason - it's going to be a awesome three day festival.

The organizers of this festival have done this over 13 times, so they know how to put on a great concert. This year will be even better. The three headliners are the Steve Miller Band, The String Cheese incident and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. In addition, around 40 bands and artists will rock the three stages of Mountain Jam on Hunter Mountain in Hunter, NY.

We decided recently how it would be fun to take a bus to one of those days. So we went to work, got in touch with Shaefer Bus Lines, and put together a trip for Saturday June 17th featuring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as headliner.

It includes leaving the bus line in Endicott (plenty of free parking) around 10am, driving to Hunter Mountain (refreshments), we give you your admission ticket as you depart the bus at the front gate, you spend the day enjoying all the festivities, and after the Tom Petty concert, hop back on the bus at the front gate, and take the relaxing ride back to the bus terminal. No stress, just fun!

If my calculator (built in 1980) is correct, the total cost for the bus ride and ticket is $212.50. If you use our special code being a Whale Nation member (it's free to join), we take $50 off, and that brings it down to $162.50.

Let's break this down. If you choose to go that day on your own, which is cool, the total price of the one day ticket to the Saturday performances is $153.20. Gas to drive there and back from Binghamton is roughly $50 give or take a few dollars. Parking will cost anywhere from $10 to $20 depending on where you park off site. Onsite parking is sold out. Total cost is roughly anywhere from $210 to $225.

For a great festival such as this with many bands each day and a full day of fun, it's worth it. But, if you want to skip the drive and parking, our bus trip is also well worth it. So, if that sounds like a good deal, click on the blue button below and get on the bus with us!
