One person was hurt in a spectacular two-vehicle collision on Main Street in Binghamton.

A Hyundai Elantra collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee in front of Binghamton High School around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.

The Grand Cherokee overturned and wound up on its roof. The man who was driving was trapped in the wrecked vehicle. He was extricated by Binghamton firefighters after about ten minutes.

The injured man appeared to be speaking with medics after he was freed from the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital by Superior Ambulance.

Main Street between Front and Oak streets was closed for about an hour until the damaged vehicles were removed.
