The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will announce the inductees for the 2015 class sometime next month.

The nominees have been announced and I don’t agree with most of them. Check this out.
Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, N.W.A, the Smiths, Lou Reed, Sting, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Kraftwerk, Chic, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, the Marvelettes, the Spinners, Stevie Ray Vaughan, War and Bill Withers.

Some of these nominees are in the right category, like Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, but most of these should be put on hold to allow the big rock groups of the 60’s and 70’s to be put on the list of nominees.

The Marvelettes, War and even Bill Withers make a good case, Sting is deserving but again there are older groups and artists that I feel should be considered first.

So here are my top five artists or groups that should have been inducted long ago.

Boston - I could sum this up with an “Are You Kidding Me” one of purest rock and roll sounds ever, angelic harmonies and guitar keyboard symphonies. I can say based on just this group alone, the powers that decide who is enshrined in Cleveland are imbeciles.

Journey - One of the most popular west coast bands of the late 70’s and the complete 80’s.

Jethro Tull -  True innovators of progressive rock, synergy with the flute and the lyrical genius of Ian Anderson year after year and they are not even considered.

Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water? Kids are still cutting their guitar playing teeth on that riff!

Yes - The Kings of Progressive Rock and these guys get snubbed. They're probably the most polished and complicated music to copy, and most cover bands wouldn't even attempt a Yes song.

The powers that be are allowing fans to vote for one of the nominees, however you have no input on who gets nominated. That's apparently done by a group of morons who can't tell the difference between Boston and Madonna.
