I have been immersed in all things Robin Williams for 5 days now and the more I see the more I realized I have missed.

I've seen half of his movies. That's it! I caught up a little this week, but that doesn't count because I didn't have time to enjoy it.

Robin Williams was beyond gifted. He seamlessly drifted between dark parts to humorous and everything in between. What I did notice was that he brought himself to every part he played. You can see it in his eyes. Amazing.

Look at who he co-starred with: Bill Cosby, Al Pacino, Gene Hackman, Robert DeNiro. It doesn't get bigger than that.

I could only pare down his best movie roles to 11. I would've had 12 had I found a good Night at the Museum scene!

The most "wow" movie in his career was the modern version of Dante's Inferno called "What Dreams May Come." Watch it. You won't be sorry.

It's time to celebrate the genius that was Robin Williams!

    What Dreams May Come

I loved reading Dante's Inferno in high school and this movie does it more than justice. I would've never imagined Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Robin together. it's magic.

    Dead Poet's Society

Everyone agrees on this one. 'nuff said!

  • 3

    Insomnia

I love when Robin Williams explored the dark side of the human experience. Insomnia casts him opposite Al Pacino and the result was gold!

  • 4

    Good Will Hunting

I saw this when the movie came out and haven't thought much about it since. It was one of those movies that made you look at Williams in a different light. Great stuff. Great cast.

    Moscow on the Hudson

the 80's were good to Robin. This was a cool movie because he played a Russian...and we believed it!

  • 6

    Good Morning Vietnam

Everyone knows this movie! Robin was nominated for several awards and won all but the Oscar. SO close!

    Awakenings

I think Robin had a thing for doctors. he was good at portraying them. Robert DiNiro plays opposite him. You have to see  this one.

    The Birdcage

Robin and Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria? I would love to see the outtakes from this movie!

  • 9

    Patch Adams

Robin did a great job sharing a real doctor's story with us. This is my favorite scene. Laughter IS the best medicine.

    Jack

My sister insisted I put this up. I haven't seen it, but apparently I am with her this weekend! Bill Cosby is in this too.

    Man of the Year

Politics and laughter didn't mix...until Robin proved that wrong! He had my vote.
