In 1978 a movie featuring new versions of Beatles songs, mainly from two of their albums, Abbey Road and the movies title, Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band hit the theaters.

The film starred The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton as Billy Shears, various artists from George Burns to Aerosmith were featured singing covers from the Beatles catalog.

The movie was campy and stupid but many of the songs had nice arrangements, and rightly so, they were produced by legendary Beatle producer George Martin.

Aerosmith’s version of “Come Together” the most successful reaching number 23 on Billboards top 100 is still played on many radio stations today including 991 The Whale.

The movie was a flop and didn’t even turn a profit in the box office, but most of the tunes are worth checking out.

Here is a scoped version of just the music performed in the movie, enjoy.
