I was sad to hear of the recent passing of former NBA star and ex New York Knick, Anthony Mason. I remember the great Knicks rosters of the 1990’s back when they made the playoffs every season. Half of the reason was Anthony Mason and his rough tenacious defensive style of play.

For those who don't know, Anthony Mason died of heart failure last weekend. He was only 48.

I had watched the Knicks as a young boy and then became less interested in the 1980’s. However when Patrick Ewing was drafted and they built a team around him, I became a big fan once again.

Anthony Mason helped us win a lot of games and his play was a big reason the Knicks made it to the NBA finals in 1994.

Number 14, gone but not forgotten, thank you Mase.
