Resurfacing work will result in the closure of a Tioga County exit off Route 17.

The state Department of Transportation is advising drivers that Exit 66 at Apalachin will be out of service for the nighttime paving operations.

The closing is scheduled to be from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Wednesday.

According to DOT spokesperson David J. Hamburg, eastbound Exit 66 will be closed Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Westbound Exit 66 will be closed Thursday night into Friday morning.

Motorists should use a posted detour along Route 434 from the Owego interchange at Exit 65.

The ramps at the Apalachin interchange will be closed for the resurfacing. The work should be completed this week.
