When I was a kid, we didn't have to worry too much about invasion of privacy.

The biggest one was telemarketers calling your home or sending junk mail. There was no invasive tactic or concern that what we owned could spy on us. Today, that's all we think about.

I don't mean to spotlight one particular brand, but the voice recognition part of the privacy policy of Samsung's SmartTVs is a little freaky. And it's in the news.

"Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition."

Does this concern you? How much do we have to give up to enjoy new technology? Should we revolt by going "old school?"

We already know that web cams have been used to spy, that hackers can gain access to any information they want, and that the NSA listens. But why should we give our privacy up? I think, if we want to retain it, we need a bigger voice. What bigger voice is there than unplugging?
