Is that really a thing? Well, I suppose it depends on what you mean by the word "prepping." I have my own definition of the word.

Vacation time is finally on the horizon for me, and I have issues with getting ready to take time off. First, work stuff needs to be completed before I go, and by that, I mean assigning my work to someone else to cover. Why not? I have to do their work when they take time off, right?

I'm not one of those people who throw caution to the wind and figure out vacation plans while the vacation is already in progress. I tend to plan out several of the meals (cheaper than eating out) in advance, as well as the days I'm going into town for errands. How much do I budget for gas, entertainment (beer) and tips (are tips a thing at campgrounds?) My vacation consists of camping in the middle of nowhere, which is actually a great thing.

I'm not sure where this obsession with planning ahead came from, since the rest of the year it's not really a part of my lifestyle. Maybe it's because having a plan for a week off is more appealing. I don't know. Maybe vacation planning could become a profession for me in my retirement years. Wait, that's what a travel planner does isn't it? Oh well.
