Construction of a 3,000-square-foot structure to house Beer Tree Brew Co. off Route 369 in Port Crane started late last year.

Brendan Harder and Chris Rhoades had collaborated on home brewing projects. They then became partners in developing the farm brewery in the Town of Fenton.

In recent weeks, they've been busy making beer in a 1,200-square-foot brewing area of the new building.

Over the past couple of weekends, the timber-framed tasting room has welcomed its first guests as part of a soft opening.

The grand opening for the business will be held this weekend. It's scheduled to be open from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition to several of its own beers on tap, Beer Tree Brew Co. plans to serve some wines from the Finger Lakes region and soda produced in Niagara Falls.
