The two hottest teams in the Eastern League collide for the Eastern Division championship when the Trenton Thunder meet the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium at 6:35 Wednesday night to begin the best-of-five series.  Trenton led the division for much of the season.  The Thunder finished the regular season with a record of 92-48 and were 7-3 over their last ten games. Binghamton finished in second place 6.5 games behind the Thunder with a record of 85-54.  The Rumble Ponies have won eight games in a row and nine of their past ten contests.

Binghamton closed out the regular season with a 9-3 romp over Hartford on Sunday.  Kevin Taylor had three hits and drove in four runs to key the Rumble Ponies offense.

In Wednesday night's playoff opener the Rumble Ponies will send Eastern League Pitcher of the Year Corey Oswalt to the mound.  Oswalt is having a stellar season.  His record is 12-5 with an ERA of 2.28.  Trenton's starting pitcher is Dillon Tate.  Tate is 1.2 with a 3.24 ERA.  All playoff games can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Air tomorrow night is set for 6:20.  Game three and if needed games four and five will be played in Trenton this Friday through Sunday.
