Police say a Johnson City man removed his clothes and threatened neighborhood residents with a knife during a dispute.

Authorities say two people were injured as a result of the incident, which happened around 8 p.m. Thursday near Hudson Street and Grand Avenue.

Investigators believe 38-year-old Louis Sophie was under the influence of alcohol and some other substance at the time of the altercation.

Police say a woman sustained a leg injury but the wound was not related to the knife Sophie had been wielding. They say Sophie wound up with a minor laceration to the chest area when the others involved in the incident defended themselves.

Sophie was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where he was treated and released. The woman was treated at the scene.

Sophie was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. He was arraigned in Johnson City village court and released.
