Pennsylvania State Police say they are looking for a man for passing bad checks, buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise in New York, New Jersey, Susquehanna County, Wayne County, Luzerne, Pike and Lackawanna Counties in Pennsylvania.

Timothy August is accused of starting to buy chain saws and leaf blowers at hardware stores and buying gift cards at Weis Markets, all with bad checks starting last November.  Officials say the checks were passed at about 17 hardware stores with gift cards purchased more than 50 times with rubber checks in December. Police say August routinely sold the chain saws and leaf blowers for cash.

August was believed to be staying in a camper at various locations.
