Binghamton detectives may be starting another homicide investigation with the probe into a man's death in the downtown district.

Authorities say police were called to the second-floor of an apartment house at 84 Pine Street Friday morning.

When officers arrived, they found an injured 51-year-old man on the front porch of the residence.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the death is being investigated as "suspicious." They would not describe the injuries sustained by the man or provide any information about what may have happened before police were contacted.

Detectives say people with information about the case may contact investigators at 607.772.7080.

The Binghamton police detective division is continuing to work on the investigation into last week's death of Binghamton University student Haley Anderson. Her body was found March 9 in an apartment on Oak Street on the West Side. Orlando Tercero, a suspect in the homicide, is in custody in Nicaragua.
