Authorities are investigating the death of a young girl in the town of Colesville.

State police say troopers were sent to a home on East Windsor Road after a 911 call reporting an unresponsive 10-year-old girl. The call was received around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the troopers determined that the child - Belladonna Loke - had been discovered by the owner of the house in a second-floor bedroom "obviously deceased."

Officials say the girl and her family had been staying at a relative's home since December when they moved to Broome County.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicated Belladonna Loke had suffered from a "serious medical condition." A statement released Monday by New York State Police did not elaborate.

The girl's body was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, where an autopsy was performed. The cause and manner of her death have not been revealed.
