I've been with 99.1 The Whale for so long, I have more vacation days that there are days in the year. OK, that's a lie.

But I do get a couple of weeks a year to get away from the work scene. Now it's not as easy as you may think. Being in the business of radio, it's not so easy to just walk away for a week, since the entertainment world never stops.

As a manager and on-air personality, there are certain things that need to be attended to each day that requires someone else to take up the slack of me slacking off on vacation. For example, who is going to fill in for my radio show, who will blog for me, fill in for my daily noon nap, take those extra long lunch breaks, mid-afternoon snack time, and the list goes on and on. It's exhausting.

Now for the real truth. What I do is nowhere near as hard or difficult as your job. I appreciate the hard work our listeners put in every day to bring home a paycheck. No matter what you do, you work hard to make a living, and to hopefully earn some time off each year.

Now it's time to plan my vacation. Job number one is to fill the fridge with as much of my favorite beverage as possible. Priorities.
