Planning for a Midweek Holiday
As you know, this year the 4th of July is on a Tuesday. The timing is a bit tough for some people, including me. Many holidays fall on a Friday or a Monday and that makes for a nice three day weekend. Some obviously do not.
For me, it feels weird taking one day off in the middle of the week, or close to it as is the case with the 4th of July this year. We get the weekend off, work Monday, off Tuesday and back to work on Wednesday. How do we ever get our groove on with that kind of schedule?
This holiday is not such a big deal I guess, but when a holiday like Christmas falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, that is difficult. Especially since Christmas is a season that lasts well over a month, then the day comes in the middle of the work week and just like that, it's over. Back to work. My thought is what the hell just happened?
Maybe it's just me being weird, since I rarely take off any time around the holidays like many do. This year, Christmas and New Year's Day fall on a Monday, so no problem, but just wait until the 2018 holiday season. Happy 4th of July, and I hope you get a four day weekend this year.
