January 6th 1975, the members of Pink Floyd began a busy time at London's Abby Road Studios for a recording session.

That recording session was the beginning of putting together the band's 9th studio album, 'Wish You Were Here.' Roger Waters is credited with writing the tunes on this album.

Amazing songs were created for the LP, including the title track Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Welcome To The Machine and Have A Cigar.

'Wish You Were Here' arrived in record stores on September 12th 1975, reached the number one position on the US and UK album charts, and became certified silver, gold and platinum.

For this week's Classic Rock Pick, here's a great tribute to Syd Barrett with Pink Floyd performing Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
