One Dead in Two-Vehicle Crash in Candor

One person is dead following a two vehicle collision in Tioga County May 8.

Tioga County Sheriff’s officials say there were two people in each of the vehicles involved in the crash on Route 96 at Catatonk Hill Road in Candor at around 7:50 p.m.

Two people were airlifted and one taken by ambulance to area hospitals.  The names of those involved have not been released. Authorities also have not released information concerning the injuries and condition of the surviving victims.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The area of Route 96 and Catatonk Hill Road was closed for several hours following the crash as patients were evacuated and authorities began their investigation.
