Officials in Minnesota said they believe there’s no reason to believe Prince committed suicide and showed no signs of trauma after the body of the pop icon was found in his home on Thursday. Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson revealed the first details into the investigation during a press conference Friday afternoon near the Paisley Park compound where Prince lived and worked.

Olson said staff members at the compound called 911 at 9:43 AM CST on Thursday after they found him unresponsive in an elevator. Police and the county medical examiner arrived and pronounced Prince dead at 10:07 AM. An autopsy was conducted early Friday and results may take several weeks.

Olson also said it was “not unusual” to receive a call from Paisley Park, which includes several buildings on nine acres in the suburbs of Minneapolis, but the sheriff called Prince a “private person.”

Aside from revealing that the singer was last seen alive at 8PM on Wednesday when he was dropped off at home, officials wouldn’t release many more details pending the open investigation. However, Olson stressed that it’s “normal protocol” to investigate an unwitnessed death and that “no inference should be taken.”
