A federal bankruptcy court judge is to hold a hearing on Wednesday that's expected to finalize plans for the acquisition of hundreds of stores operated by the Bon-Ton chain.

The company filed for bankruptcy in February. Efforts to attract a buyer interested in keeping some stores open failed.

Bon-Ton president Bill Tracy issued a statement saying the company will work "to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations."

The closing of the Johnson City Bon-Ton location will be another big loss for the Oakdale Mall, which opened 42 years ago.

The mall's Macy's and Sears stores were shut down last year.
