The New York Giants will be at home again this week for another big NFC East division match up against the Washington Redskins, coverage begins Sunday at Noon on 991 The Whale.

I know it’s only week three but any coach or player will tell you that every game you play against a team in your division is important.

The Washington Redskins have lost their first two games of the season, they are 0-1 in the division, another loss would put them two down in the division and in the cellar at 0 and 3.

The Giants need to dominate this game by stopping the Washington offensive attack and scoring points when they have the ball.

The Redskins have DeSean Jackson, one of the best catch and run receivers, and their first pick in the draft receiver Josh Doctson, and Tight End Jordan Reed, great targets for QB Kirk Cousins.

The Giants defense will have its work cut out and must continue to tackle and stay in front of these threats.

The Redskins can score quick so I think if the Giants front four can put pressure on Cousins and force some into some quick throws, they can limit their time of possession and keep the score down.

We have seen glimpses of the chemistry with Eli and his offensive, but I think we’ll see more this week, and Big Blue will need to score to win this game.

Giants rookie Sterling Shepard is looking good, he continues to improve and had 3 big catches last week, Victor Cruz is performing well and show signs of his play before the injuries.

The Big Blue defense looks much improved from last year and I think the free agent acquisitions are really paying off, Janoris Jenkins was named NFC Special Teams player of the Week for the blocked kick he returned for a touchdown last week against the Saints.

This should be another good game and I would not be surprised if it comes down to a field goal or last possession score.

Giants-Redskins, catch all the action with Bob Papa and company starting with the Pre-Game show on Sunday at 12 Noon and keep it here after the game for head coach Ben McAdoo's press conference and team interviews on your station for NY Giants Football 991 the whale.

Go Giants!
