No Charges in Fatal Waverly Scooter/ Car Collision

No tickets are being issued after a Waverly woman on a mobility scooter was hit while crossing the street September 16.

Police say 83 year old Iva Hoose died of her injuries.

The woman was thrown from her scooter when it was hit by a car driven by a 35 year old woman at the intersection of Ithaca and Chemung Streets at 3:15 p.m..

Waverly Police say as a result of the investigation from the Tioga County District Attorney’s Office, no criminal charges will be filed since there was no evidence of negligence or criminal contempt on the part of the driver of the car.
