The New York Giants are coming off a tough loss in New Orleans, they'll take their high scoring offense to Tampa Bay to face the Bucs on Sunday, coverage begins at 3:05p on 991 The Whale

Last week Eli Manning and Drew Brees lit up the fantasy football league with a collective 13 touchdown passes and a combine total teams offense of over 1000 yards and 101 points on the scoreboard.

The end result was another Giants folly filled moment with a special teams blunder that put the Saints in position to kick a game winning field goal as time expired.

Big Blue has proven they can move the ball and score points, Eli manning was 30 for 41 with 350 yards in the air and 6 touchdowns.

However the Giants defense gave up 511 yards and 7 touchdowns to Brees and the Saints.

The biggest concern on the Defense is the lack of pass rush to the quarterback, and an equal concern, the lack of communication regarding the opponents receivers and who is covering them?

I saw two big plays last week where a Saints receiver was so wide open, he could have grabbed a beer and a hot dog before he caught the ball, and walked into the end zone.

The good news is the possible return of Jason Pierre-Paul, but how much can he add with no training camp or preseason and an injured hand.

Another plus for the Giants defense is they're facing a rookie quarterback this week in Jameis Winston, I think the Giants can do enough on the defense to confuse him and maybe force a few picks.

A win on Sunday would put the Giants at 5-4 and still in first place in the NFC East, with the Redskins facing the unbeaten Patriots, and a Cowboys-Eagles matchup on Sunday night, the G men need to control their own destiny in this tight division race.

So the stage is set as the Giants get ready to take on another NFC South team

Catch all the action Sunday at 3:05pm , and keep it here after the game for coach Coughlin’s press conference and team interviews on your station for NY Giants Football, 99.1 The Whale.
