Have New Snack Flavors Gone Too Far

I enjoy a variety of snacks but have we gone too far with off the wall flavors being added to the snacks we've enjoyed for so many years?

Lays have upped their flavor selections on Potato Chips with limited edition varieties that change from year to year.

This years editions include Bacon Mac & Cheese, Cappuccino, Mango Salsa, and Kettle Cooked chips

Past flavors have included New York Hotdog, Honey Glazed BBQ Ribs and Chicken and Waffles.

This is a bit of a stretch for me, I have always been a fan of the regular BBQ chips and even the Sour Cream and Onion type, but if I want a hot dog or some chicken and waffles I'll have the real thing, not some artificially flavored alternative.

Many other snack companies are releasing their own bizarre flavors, Oreos have introduced  us to Peanut Butter Cup, and Banana Split Oreo's, and they have just introduced their first Oreo candy bar.

The latest to jump on the flavored band wagon is the makers of Peeps, who are trying to break the stereotype of being the Easter Candy, have introduced 'Cinnamon Roll Peeps'

Snacks are not the only food item that has added odd varieties, many breakfast cereals have introduced new flavors over the years and flavored coffee's are a huge hit, I just read the Pop Tarts have teamed up with Dunkin Donuts.

How long will these added varieties of flavors continue? I see no end so curl up on the couch with a good movie and a bowl of Lays Biscuits and Gravy Potato Chips.
