Cortland stands to lose millions of dollars with announcement that the New York Jets will not be back to Central New York for training camp.

The team is opting to have its three week conditioning sessions at its Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Cortland officials estimate the NFL camp brought in about $20 million for the local economy over the past five years.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer’s office said the Democrat will do everything he can to push the team to return to New York State in years to come.

The Jets organization thanked SUNY Cortland and the community for the hospitality enjoyed over the past several years.
