This week it was my pleasure to have one of Binghamton’s gifted musicians, Randy McStine in the Whale studio for an interview.

Randy’s love for music and the guitar started around the age of 5, but I have a feeling even before he picked one up, the passion for music was already there.

From performing in local clubs at age 10 to working and touring with some pretty impressive musicians, Randy has crafted his style with originality and diversity, the influences can be heard at times, but he owns the creations.

I had a chance to listen to his latest album “The Age Of Entitlement.” The third album in his solo project, Lo-Fi Resistance.

In a word, unique, clever, original (oh that’s three words) and here’s three more, I’m a Fan.

Randy will be performing songs from this new album on Friday at Tioga Trails in Owego, starting around 10p (doors open at 9:30p) he has put together a group of extremely talented band mates to perform with him. Some have worked with Yes, Meatloaf and Blondie, you can get tickets at the door or on line CLICK HERE

I don’t want to go all Ed Sullivan on you, but Randy McStine is a class act and a truly gifted musician, he continues to develop and educate himself in all areas of the music industry. (although Ed and I also would agree he's a fine decent young man too)

I can’t wait to see what he does next.
