Playing at Mountain Jam on Saturday June 8th, Gov't Mule first formed in 1994 from Allman Brothers alum Warren Haynes and Allen Woody. The group started off as a side project and continued to grow from there....12 studio albums and several live albums under their belt, they are now a staple at festivals all around the country.

When The Allman Brothers reformed in 1989, Haynes and Woody met and bonded over their shared interest in 60's power trios such as Cream. When The Allman Brothers weren't making any new music, they began to work full time on Gov't Mule with drummer Matt Abts.

In August of 2000, Woody was found dead in his apartment. The band did several tribute albums in his honor and a benefit concert to support his daughter's education. Hayes began touring with Allman Brothers again, which lead to Gov't Mule becoming a part time project again.

The band's current lineup is Warren Haynes on guitar and vocals, Matt Abts on drums, Danny Louis on keyboard and Jorgen Carlsson on bass. If you are a fan of blues, southern rock, or The Allman Brothers, than you will definitely enjoy Gov't Mule. For ticket information on Mountain Jam click here.
