Plans for even more housing in Downtown Binghamton are getting the green light.

Days after a developer announced plans for housing at the Ellis Brothers Store on Washington Street, the City Planning Commission has also approved a proposal for three residential housing units consisting of 19 bedrooms over the Family Dollar Store on Court Street.

Ellis Brothers is moving operations from Washington Street into the former J.C. Penny building it has been renovating.

Developer Yaron Kweller is looking to convert the furniture store into a 13 unit apartment building with 58 beds.
